As a devoted student and participant in the history of filmmaking, I have witnessed firsthand how technology has shaped our industry. However, I am increasingly concerned about the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) within our field. The proliferation of AI threatens not only our jobs but also the unique human creativity that breathes life into every film we make.

Corporate conglomerates are beginning to see AI as a cost-effective alternative to human labor. These machines can perform tasks in half the time it would take a person, making them an attractive option for companies looking to cut costs. But at what expense? The artistry and craftsmanship that define our industry are at risk.

According to a report by McKinsey & Company, up to 20% of creative jobs could be automated by 2030 due to advancements in AI (McKinsey Global Institute). This is not just about protecting jobs; it's about preserving an art form that has been built on human ingenuity and passion.

We must call on regulatory bodies within and outside our industry to set limits on the use of artificial intelligence. We need policies that protect workers from being replaced by machines and ensure that filmmaking remains an expression of human creativity.

It’s time to show them that’s the wrong narrative and to rewrite the outcome and make it one where it’s in the best interest of everyone to not let AI dominate a format that is linked to creativity and innovation by people with emotions and experiences that machines can never replicate or replace. 

The people who control the film industry have shown time and time again, their carelessness and apathy towards their own writers, producers and any creative talent that isn’t part of the upper management of the film business,  this would essentially mean they could take what they see as unneeded and costly labor to be replaced with something that has no need to sleep or be paid, it’s an example of a reoccurring problem in which technology is being used for the wrong reasons and to serve only a select few rather then trying to fix the current problems, they are determined to solve it with cost cutting while ignoring the actual problem that still exists and will not be solved by the implementation of artificial intelligence to replace quality and efficiency with quantity and inefficient technologies that cannot compete with the human spirit or imagination.
