A garbage decision creating more waste We have now received the new garbage, recycling and green bins. They sure look fabulous and will make waste management’s life much easier but what about us consumers and taxpayers??? Many of us live on properties with lengthy driveways and will have to try to push/drag these gigantic bins somehow to the curb. The bins are way too large to fit into the back of our car/truck/ATV and way too heavy to be lifted. Once winter rolls around and the driveways are covered in white stuff and ice, the trip to the curb will be even more interesting and downright dangerous. Get the lawyers ready! We do not want to leave these ugly bins at the end of our driveways because animals will scatter litter all over the place as two of the new bins do not have animal locks. We are not going to build shelters for them either. Not only will they alter the beauty of our roads but we are not going to spend more money than what we have already via our taxes. Pardon the pun but more waste. We ask that the Region of Peel reviews and opes a discussion on finding a beneficial solution for all parties involved.
