My name is Regina Silva I am a US citizen. I was born and raised in Miami Florida USA. I married Jose L. Barberena in February 27th, 2017. We have a 5 year old boy named Luis Roberto Barberena he was born February 11th, 2013. I am writing this letter on behalf of my family, and am pleading for help and the release of my husband from the Krome Detention Center, where he is being held for deportation to Nicaragua.

My husband Jose Luis is an immigrant from Nicaragua that arrived into the U.S. on May 2007. Nicaragua is a poor country that is that is riddled with violence and poverty and he was looking for a safe and secure life. We met and fell in love in 2009 and he has been the support of myself, my son and my mother ever since. My mother is not well and I suffer from high blood pressure and am borderline diabetic.

In January 25th of 2018 my husband was
stopped by an ICE officer and detained , we immediately filed a stay of removal but unfortunately it was denied and his order of deportation was assigned. He has a date of March 21, 2018 to be deported back. I’m being told that legally there is nothing we can do other than for him to leave the country and start serving the 5 or 10 year bar that does not allow his return into the U.S

I’m asking for immigration to consider
reopening his case for the reasons below:

1. He has been a hard working and contributing
member of society since he arrived in the U.S.

2. He has no criminal record and has been
a law abiding citizen,

3. He is married to an American citizen.

4. His son is an American citizen.

 5. He is the sole support of our family.

6. I will be unable to work and support
myself and my child without his assistance due to my illness.

 7. His deportation will destroy our family
and cause long lasting and emotion trauma for our child and myself.

8. His extended detainment and/or deportation
will leave us destitute and without financial support.

The detainment of my husband has devastated
our family. Our son is suffering greatly as he misses his father already. I can’t imagine what will happen if he his deportation is finalized. Jose Luis is a very compassionate person that likes to help people. He has been a good provider for his family. Please
help me stop my husband from being deported. Help us stay together. I am praying and I beg you to please have mercy on my family and help me with my situation. We need him.Thank you for your consideration and support.
