We have passed 700 signatures! We were at 200-something a year ago. 

Regal has since FINALLY replaced the Pointe IMAX screen, after almost a year of inaction. Sadly, that’s the only thing they fixed. We still have trashed and damaged seats and we still have 11 year old projectors. 

I have since learned that the IMAX 70mm projector is still in the booth at Pointe Orlando, as pictured. (Hopefully the picture is cropped correctly now) Although, supposedly with major parts missing, used to repair other systems at other theaters. This means it wouldn’t be as hard to restore 70mm capabilities as I previously thought, we were told it had been removed from the building completely. 

But once again, we are still stuck with 11 year old digital xenon. Dune Part II is fast approaching, and we still can’t experience the full 1.43 picture. Once again, our nearest option for 1.43 is AutoNation IMAX in Ft. Lauderdale. Once again, I will be driving right on past Regal’s theater to get there. I really would have liked to give them my business, if they respected their theater with proper projection. 

I’m very satisfied with our signature numbers, but we also need to apply pressure on Regal from multiple angles. Bug them about it on social media, both publicly and in private messages. Bug them about it in person should you visit the theater.
