One of the 10 Commandments:  
Do not take the Lord's name in vain.

There are 230 million Christians in the US... and another 20 million from other religions (Judaism, Islam, etc) that denounce the profane use of the name of God.  This is 75% of America.

Despite this fact, the majority of Hollywood movies and TV shows intentionally script vulgar use of the name Jesus Christ and God. 

• We acknowledge this God-given right to free speech. 
• We also acknowledge our God-given freedom to say no thanks to these shows.

This pledge is not an opposition to free speech.  Hollywood can continue to use vulgarity however they prefer.  However, we know what happens if 230 million customers say no thanks.  Replacing this scripted language with other words does not compromise entertainment value.

With enough support, we will encourage organizations like CommonSenseMedia.org to better track this usage or we will create an easily searchable site to identify what movies to avoid.  Currently it appears CommonSenseMedia.org is the only one loosely tracking this language.

This is our pledge to not watch movies or TV that use God's name as profanity.  It is small and humble sacrifice to honor this commandment of God.   Please share with others.  The collective momentum of Muslims, Jews and Christians together can make this change happen very fast.
