Hello!
Lambeth is running an independent consultation, by MP, Lord Kerslake, on how to increase social housing in Lambeth more quickly and more environmentally than the borough is doing at the moment.
Could this be because Lambeth is maxed out on its loans for Homes for Lambeth with the borough now owing £700m+ with no increase in social housing to show for it? Who knows?
Your views are being sought, the two questions are:
1) How can Lambeth council and its partners deliver more high-quality affordable homes, more quickly for more people?
2) How can Lambeth council and its partners do this and manage the costs of moving to a net zero carbon borough?

This is a great opportunity for Lambeth residents to express their views on Lambeth's housing provision to in independent consultation.
Do you live in poor/good housing? Do you feel let down by Lambeth? Are you are temporarily-housed?
How could your situation or for the homeless be improved?
Is there a simpler, quicker, more environmental way of providing an increase in social housing than knocking down the six council estates across Lambeth, and also a private one in the north of Lambeth?
In our humble opinion, just giving people secure tenancies and bringing empty buildings back into use would help out and save huge amounts on temporary provision. Also avoiding homelessness by regulating the private sector - coming down hard on landlords with empty properties, lack of repairs and having rent caps.
