Central Hill features in two amazing videos.
Central Hill's Limbo by student filmmaker, Abigail Firmager, looks at how residents are affected by Lambeth's plan to regenerate, which is casting a shadow on their lives.
Zack Polanski, GLA member for the Green Party, also uses Central Hill to illustrate how high standard modernisation and insulation is the way forward and not the releasing of embodied carbon in estate demolition if we're to save truly affordable social housing and stave off the environmental crisis.
The GLA and the Mayor's role in estate demolitions is vital as Sadiq Khan continues to fund buying back ex-council properties for demolition and replacing obsolete buildings as defined by the landlord, in our case, Lambeth Council. These are both euphemisms for business as usual, costing hundreds of millions of pounds to the London Council Tax payer just to rip down estates which ultimately brings no significant amount of new homes for the homeless.
