I am a proud leader of an all-female 4x4 and adventure group in Australia (Adventure Girls 4wd). Our passion is to explore and enjoy the great outdoors, but our ability to do so safely is under threat. The current insurance policies for 4x4 parks are making it increasingly difficult for these parks to operate. Without proper insurance, many of these parks face closure.

The closure of these parks will have far-reaching consequences beyond just our group. It will force enthusiasts like us into national parks and private properties without permission, putting not only ourselves but others at risk as well due to lack of supervision.

According to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), well-managed outdoor recreational facilities like 4x4 parks play a crucial role in promoting safety by providing controlled environments that reduce risks associated with outdoor activities.

We urge the national insurance companies in Australia to reconsider their policies towards insuring 4x4 parks. By doing so, they can help ensure that these spaces remain open for everyone who enjoys outdoor adventures while also promoting safe practices within our community.

We really need a Local government and councils to really get on board with this as we want to keep Australia’s national parks clean and what they are intended for and free from people endangering others because they can’t go a local 4x4 park and do what they enjoy. 
I believe that a lot (not all) of national parks are for camping and enjoying what Australia has to offer. While other that do offer the 4x4 will be over populated because people will be forced to enjoy their passion at only very specific locations,
and that we should keep the off-roading to designated parks.
