Reform Birmingham City Council for Improved Service Delivery

The Issue

As a resident deeply affected by the poor performance of Birmingham city council, Europe's largest, its shortcomings are too glaring to ignore. The conditions of our city - its cleanliness, road conditions, and parking enforcement - are not up to par with what residents of such a celebrated city should experience. The similarities to the conditions of third-world countries are disturbingly apparent. The Labour party has been in control of the city since 2012, yet it seems the city's overall efficiency has significantly deteriorated over time.

On a personal note, the current bin collection services are on strike, causing distress among residents. It is inconceivable that in such modern times, basic services such as waste collection are not effectively managed, causing unnecessary suffering to the residents. There seems to be a lack of seriousness in addressing these salient issues.

This petition is calling for the division of Birmingham city council into smaller units. It is a widely accepted principle that smaller, more focused units often perform better than large, sprawling ones. These smaller units would be more attuned to the needs of the areas they serve and could deliver more efficient services.

Birmingham can and should do better. It's time for a profound structural change. Through your signature, we can make a powerful case for reform and improvement. Let's create a city that truly works for its residents. Let's divide Birmingham city council into smaller units for better performance. Please sign this petition.
