International Falsely Accused Day 2025:
On 09 September 2025, The Yellow Butterfly Group attended International Falsely Accused Day, outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London. An event held globally in 20 countries, it gives a voice to those on the receiving end of false allegations and wrongful convictions, with the issue of justice reform another reason for the event taking place.
Approximately 60 people were in attendance. Some came as part of official campaign groups and others as umbrella justice organisations. There were also those who have been victims themselves and lots of individuals to show their support for the people who they represent.

In addition to the nine yellow butterflies in attendance, several others who heard about the event online also turned up on the day to show their support for Lucy. It was a pleasure to meet some of you and I give you all massive respect for turning out and protesting for Lucy in a respectful and peaceful way. It really is the best and only way to go about it.
The Return of Nadine Dorries:
Last month prominent Lucy supporter Nadine Dorries returned to politics, as she joined Reform UK.
Although she didn’t make any announcements on what she plans to do next, we must keep everything crossed that a by-election comes up soon and, if Mrs Dorries is interested in standing, she will get elected.
That would not only take the number of “known” sitting MPs supporting a full re-examination of Lucy’s case up to four, but may also encourage others to have the confidence to “get off the fence” and publicly state their support too.
Just to make it clear, The Yellow Butterfly Group is very much a cross-party, cross-religion and cross-anything-else-you-can-think-of group. This is neither an endorsement nor renouncement of Reform UK. All that matters is that more MPs come out in support of Lucy. The colour of the rosette they wear is completely irrelevant.
It would be nice to see MPs from other parties come forward too. Lucy must never become the property of ANY political ideology and a healthy mixture of cross-party support is exactly what is needed.
At this point I’d like to suggest to anyone reading this, who wants to do more to help Lucy, to write to your own MP if you haven’t already done so. Ask them to “publicly state” they support a full re-examination of the evidence. Keep your letters fact based and ask for something realistic that can be granted.
Although politicians are no longer able to interfere with the judicial system as such, publicly stating they support a full re-examination of the case is more weight on the right side of the scales and puts more pressure on those who can do something. Never dismiss the power of doing something from a purely speculative position. It works!

Prof Mike Hall:
Last month saw the release of Liz Hull and Caroline Cheetham’s podcast interview with Professor Mike Hall, the key defence expert witness in Lucy’s original trial. Although Prof Hall sat through the entire trial and provided multiple reports, he was not called to give evidence to the jury.
In this exclusive interview, he provides us with his opinion on why he wasn’t called to the stand, explains the arguments and practicalities that resulted in the first trial being structured and played out the way it was and he also gives his thoughts on the strategy being adopted by the new legal team.
I have seen a mixed response to what Prof Hall had to say, but I personally think it was a good interview. We have to remember that Prof Hall is an extremely experienced hand and has an incredible knowledge of how medical testimony works within the legal system and the insight he gives here is reason alone to give the podcast a listen.

New Documentary:
Another documentary (split in two parts but aired back to back), titled Lucy Letby: Murder or Mistake, went out on Channel 4 on 29 September 2025. Again, I have read very mixed reviews and your opinion of it might be completely different to mine, but this is my own personal opinion for what it’s worth.
I think of the half a dozen or so that have been made previously, this was probably the weakest. The production came across as very low budget, some of the things discussed are fairly dated now, it didn’t cover much the others haven’t already, and it had a constant feel of trying to play one side against the other in a fairly unprofessional way.
That said, I celebrate the fact that it was made and aired on mainstream TV. I don’t for a minute believe that anyone supporting Lucy’s innocence has suddenly changed their minds because of some of the counter arguments put forward.
Many people watching it will be learning for the first time of the major doubts surrounding the conviction and I’m sure it has brought a fair number of people over to the right side of town and, at the end of the day, that is the main thing above all else. We can’t have enough mainstream TV documentaries!

Petition:
The petition now sits just 20 signatures short of the 7000 mark, so as ever, please continue to keep sharing it wherever you feel comfortable and help get it past this latest milestone and beyond.
The bigger it gets, the more of a thorn in the side it becomes and put together with all the other positive things going on recently, it will play its part in making a difference.
I wish you all a very pleasant Sunday on this bright but windy day. Keep on fighting the good fight and keep on making Lucy proud.
Best wishes,
Christopher Logan (YB Group founder, chairman and campaign lead)
