Welcome to the slightly late November 2025 newsletter.

October was a fairly quiet month, with both the external news and YB news a little thin on the ground. So I thought I could do something a bit different this month and instead use this opportunity to share our template letter with those of you who want to write to your MP about Lucy’s case.

Template letters are ideal if you don’t have the time to compose something from scratch yourself, or you are just looking for a few ideas to inspire your own letter.

The letter below is basic to allow for you to add, change or omit if you see fit. But it can also be sent as it is and work just as well. Remember, we are all individuals, so copy and paste the basic and then take it to whatever angle you want to come from!

(Date)

Dear Mr / Mrs / Ms / Miss (Their Second Name),

I am writing to you regarding the grave concerns surrounding the safety of the convictions of the former nurse, Lucy Letby.

As I’m sure you will be aware, Miss Letby is currently serving a total of 15 whole life orders for the murder and attempted murder of 14 infants at the Countess of Chester Hospital. As things currently stand, she will remain in prison until the end of her natural life.

Since the guilty verdicts were passed in 2023 and 2024, a chorus of prominent scientists, healthcare professionals, statisticians and psychologists have voiced alarming concerns, with each challenging the evidence relevant to their own field of expertise.

Perhaps most compelling of all, an international panel of 14 medical experts have meticulously examined each death and collapse and found no evidence of deliberate harm whatsoever. For each tragic event, they were able to provide an alternative explanation.

As my elected representative, I invite you to look into the case for yourself and if you too agree there is enough reasonable doubt, I urge you to publicly state your support for a full re-examination of the convictions.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration on this very sensitive matter. I would be grateful if you could respond to this letter via the email address above, outlining your position and any actions you intend to take.

Yours sincerely,

(Your Signature)

(Your First & Second Name)

ADVICE AND CAUTIONS:

  • Please make sure you fill in all of the missing details I have put in brackets. MP letters MUST include your name, address, email address and a contact phone number. If any of these are missing, it is likely you will get no reply and no action will be taken.
  • Through trial and error, the YB Group has found that the best way to give your letter every chance of reaching your MP is by writing to their constituency office, if they have one. Next best is their email address (you don’t need to put their address on if you’re using this method). I don’t recommend sending it to Parliament, as they don’t get passed on on most occasions.
  • Keep your letters realistic and be more broad than how you personally feel. Remember, politicians can not override the justice system and they do not like taking major career risks. Ask them for something that can be granted.
  • Avoid blaming and calling out those who have wronged Lucy in the past and stick to the facts. The more professional your letter comes across, the more likely you are to be taken seriously.
  • Be prepared for disappointment and think of the bigger picture. It really is a case of as many of us as possible casting out the net and seeing what we can get in the hope that even one (but hopefully more) of us is successful.
  • Be a good advocate for Lucy.

I thank all of you who intend to take part in this wider activity and I hope your letter achieves a good outcome.

The December newsletter will be back to its usual format and there will be plenty of news!

Best wishes,

Christopher Logan (YB Group founder and campaign lead)
