Welcome to the December 2025 newsletter.
Due to a lack of interest, this will be the last monthly newsletter in its current form and I will instead go back to giving fairly regular updates on The Yellow Butterfly Group’s activities and other news relevant to Lucy’s case as and when they happen.
There is a lot planned for 2026, so updates here will still be plentiful, but I am a great believer in shelving things that don’t work if you’ve genuinely given them your best shot and instead use that time in a more productive way.
This decision does not take away from Lucy, it gives in many more better ways!
Empowering the Innocent:
Last month my interview with Dr Michael Naughton, founder of Empowering the Innocent, was aired on YouTube. Focusing more on The Yellow Butterfly Group than about Lucy herself, I gave Dr Naughton a bit of background of the group and an insight into some of our activities and how we operate.
You can watch the interview in full by clicking on the link below:

Please subscribe to Empowering the Innocent’s YouTube channel and check out some of their other content. They are a brilliant organisation, who do so much to help so many victims of wrongful convictions and false allegations.
The Yellow Butterfly Group are proud to be associated with them and we very much look forward to working with them again in the future.
Jeremy Bamber:
Another group we fully endorse and share a good working relationship with is the Jeremy Bamber Innocence Campaign (JBIC).
They are an incredibly dedicated and organised group, who have been campaigning for Jeremy’s justice for many many years now. We have learnt an awful lot from them in our two and a bit years of serving Lucy and we are extremely grateful to them for imparting their knowledge and experience to help us.
Today I would like to give a little something back and share their new Crowd Justice fundraiser, as they seek to raise £20,000 to make a legal challenge to the CCRC’s decision not to refer Jeremy’s case to the Court of Appeal.
It is worth bearing in mind that what the JBIC are trying to do could serve as an important litmus test for us further down the line. As I keep saying, we have to prepare for all outcomes and not be complacent. None of us know what the CCRC is going to come back with for Lucy’s application and a challenge “could” be something of interest depending on what happens next.
If you can afford to donate even a small amount, it will help the JBIC greatly. Like us, they are all volunteers and what they do is from a position of kindness and never for gain, to seek notoriety or to sell something.

Christmas Surprise:
At 6pm on Tuesday the 23rd of December, I will be releasing something very special for Lucy on our YouTube channel.
It is something that nobody has done before and something that I hope will keep Lucy a big topic of conversation over the Christmas holidays.
Please help me to circulate it as much as possible by sharing it with your family, friends and on your social media platforms. Who knows, it may go viral!
The timer has been set for the 6pm release, so be sure to look out for it. Here is a link to our YouTube channel for easy access:

Dave the Engineer:
On a more sombre note, I’d like to pay tribute to Dave the studio engineer, who I have been working with on several music projects for the past two years. Dave very sadly passed away in hospital last month after a short illness.
He was a much loved and sought after engineer and his death has had a huge impact on the local music scene in both a personal and professional way. It didn’t matter if you were a world renowned professional artist (he worked with plenty of them) or a young rock band recording your first dodgy demo, he gave each client equal care and attention.
I am mentioning Dave in this newsletter because I have recorded four songs about Lucy with him, two of which are agonisingly close to being finished and they would be out there now if it wasn’t for this cruel twist of fate.
Once things settle down in the new year, the studio will no doubt employ a new engineer and as soon as they do, I will get booked in, make the minor tweaks needed to complete the two unfinished tracks and get them released with accompanying music videos.
Petition:
The petition is still ticking over nicely and is now sitting at 7797 signatures.
I will say again what I say most months and give my humble thanks to all of you who have continued to support it in every way you can.
Whether you have shared it on social media groups or you have sponsored a paid promotion, it has helped drive the numbers up massively and I am very grateful for everyone’s help in making it an ongoing success that is only going to keep on growing.
Final Thoughts:
As we near the end of 2025, please take a moment to reflect on how far things have come compared to where they were this time last year. Big or small, many of you have played your part in the progress made and for that, you should be proud of yourself.
There is nothing for sale in The Yellow Butterfly Group and everything we do is as proud volunteers, for no charge. I am a great believer that when you plant seeds of love and kindness so other people bear the fruits, you don’t gain nothing, you actually gain everything that really matters!
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you are visiting church over the holidays, remember to light a candle and say a prayer for Lucy.
Christopher (Yellow Butterfly Group founder and campaign lead)
