Furthermore, the law as it stands disproportionately affects lower-income drivers. The penalties for non-compliance can be steep, resulting in fines or even orders to remove expensive tint applications. The financial benefit to local law enforcement due to ticketing and fines appears to be the only clear advantage of the current law. Yet, community trust is best built when laws demonstrably serve public welfare rather than appearing as revenue-generating mechanisms.

Considering the minimal impact on law enforcement’s ability to perform their duties, as studies indicate that vehicles with window tint do not significantly impede law enforcement visibility, reevaluating the regulations can align both safety interests and personal freedoms.
