Petition: Reduce the T-Rex Population Cap to Save Our Server's Ecosystem

To the Admin Team and the Server Community,

It feels like around every corner, every sanctuary, and every hotspot, there is a Rex. I completely understand the appeal—people love being at the top of the food chain. I’ve been there myself, putting in the hours to build up that combat prowess. But as time passed and I returned to my roots with mid-tiers like the Allo, Cera, Maia, and Dibble, I discovered exactly why so many players in this community are frustrated.

The current T-Rex population cap is suffocating the server. You can no longer play a Dibble or a Trike without getting pin-slopped. It’s been at least two weeks since I’ve seen a prime Stego on S1, Maias are practically a rarity, and playing an Allo is a nightmare. I’ve tried wandering the island, chatting with randoms, and raising an army of babies. Out of 7 recent nests, all 7 batches of hatchlings were wiped out by Rexes. Not other mid-tier carnivores. Not hell-bent herbivores. Just Rexes.

This isn't an exaggeration. Here is exactly what i experienced over a two day period:

The Upper Delta Trap: While doing an F2 flyover to record some shorts, I spotted 9 prime Rexes dominating Upper Delta, chilling together and talking, the entire area of the map was off limits to anything above a ton

.

The Dam Lake to West Rail Flight: On a single short flight path today, I counted 4 large Rexes, and 3 sub adults  just out in the open—and those were only the ones I could see.

Sanctuary Camping: I recently tried escorting a baby Trike who had been repeatedly walled off from HL Sanctuary, having been killed 5 times by the same speedy baby Rex. When they tried SP Sanctuary instead, they were killed twice by a group of 3 large Rexes camping outside, and we encountered 2 more sub-adults with failed ambushes nearby.

The Impossible Growth Cycle: To emphasize just how bad this has gotten, recently, I have only died to Rexes. I’ve lost a Dibble three times to a Rex, a Maia to a Rex, and just lost a Cera to one despite being a highly aware player. Because of this overpopulation, entire areas of the map like Delta Bridge or highland sanc are completely off-limits if you are above a certain size. Even when you cave and play Rex just to survive, the map is so saturated that you can log off at 7T in the corner of South Plains only to log back in to two prime cannibals immediately in your face. (totally didn't happen to me...)

When the app first came out and the apex limits were merged, the gameplay experience was infinitely better. Everywhere you looked, there were different species, different fights, different deaths, and different interactions. It was dynamic, unpredictable, and genuinely a blast. I would take that diverse ecosystem in a heartbeat over experiencing the same old pin slop over and over again. Now, the meta pushes players into a corner: you either play a tiny tier, or you deal with an apex at every single turn.

I reached out to old friends who have moved on to other servers to ask why they stopped playing Bosch. Every single one gave the exact same answer: the apex overpopulation. Trying to play a good, slow herbivore life means either hiding in the extreme corners of the map or relying on incredible luck. Meanwhile, servers with Rex caps set at a quarter of ours offer a completely different, vastly superior ecosystem.

To everyone tired of the endless pin-slop, tired of sanctuary campers deleting hours of growth in a single click, and longing to actually fight a wide range of species again: we need to change this.

We are officially requesting a severe drop in the Rex population cap—by at least half, if not a quarter of what it is currently—to restore the mid-tier experience. Potentially stopping people from getting rexes after every server crash and restart, or adding incentives to stop the mega packing across the server. Let’s bring the food chain back into balance before we lose more players to servers that already figured this out.
