Reduce the Speed Limit in Clutton, Bristol to Improve Road Safety
The Issue
I am a resident of Clutton, Bristol and have witnessed first-hand the devastating consequences of high-speed crashes on our local roads. Cars hurtling down our lanes at 60mph have caused accidents and injuries, turning our peaceful community into a danger zone.
According to data from the Department for Transport (DfT), speed is a contributing factor in approximately one third of all fatal road traffic accidents in the UK. In addition, research has shown that reducing speed limits can significantly decrease the risk and severity of crashes.
We are calling on local authorities to reduce the current speed limit from 60mph to a safer level. This is not just about statistics - it's about real lives at stake here in Clutton. We believe that by taking this action, we can prevent further tragedies and make our roads safer for everyone.
Please sign this petition if you agree that safety should be prioritised over speed on our roads.
