I want to say a huge Thank You to each and every one of you who has signed this petition and helped spread the word.
 
As a stage 2 womb cancer survivor myself, I cannot highlight enough how important the support from all of you is in making this happen.
 
We constantly hear that we need to know our bodies and be aware of our symptoms so we will have a chance for early diagnosis. I agree this is important, but it is not as simple as that.
It can be hard to identify the symptoms of these types of cancers because they can be similar to a range of other conditions and this can lead to late or even misdiagnosis, which is what happened in my case. I was told by my GP to eat Activia yoghurts for my bloating!
By the time my symptoms presented, the cancer was already spreading to my ovaries.
 
The only person to give me the right diagnoses was the gynaecologist!
 
Every woman must have the right for a yearly check-up! We should all have the option to be checked, instead of being put in a lottery and be told to wait and see!
 
Just a reminder of the figures. Every day in the UK, 58 women are diagnosed with 1 of the 5 gynaecological cancers. (Womb, Ovarian, Cervical, Vulvar, Vaginal)
Sadly, 21 women a day die from one of these cancer diagnoses. THIS IS TOO MUCH!! 
The UK is a developed country and there should be no excuses.
 
NO WOMAN SHOULD DIE FROM LATE DIAGNOSIS!
 
The petition has already got support from a few gynaecologists, which is amazing news & also some women’s health organisations!
Several blogs have covered my story and the petition recently, including charities and an award-winning cancer blog.
An article was also published in a leading online newspaper.
 
Now that we have reached 10,000 signatures, I will be writing to MPs to ask for their support.
 
Let’s stand up for our lives and health!
