I am a resident of Jakarta, Indonesia. Every day, I witness the devastating effects of pollution and sea level rise on my beloved city. This is not just an environmental issue; it's a personal one. Our homes, our livelihoods, and our future are at stake.

Indonesia is the world's fifth-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, mainly due to deforestation (World Bank). In Jakarta alone, air pollution levels regularly exceed safe limits set by the World Health Organization. Furthermore, as an archipelago nation with over 17,000 islands and a coastline spanning 54,716 kilometers (CIA World Factbook), Indonesia is particularly vulnerable to sea-level rise caused by climate change.

We need urgent action to reduce carbon emissions in order to mitigate climate change and its impacts on our lives. By implementing sustainable practices such as renewable energy sources and improved waste management systems we can make a significant difference.

This petition calls upon local government officials in Jakarta Utara and national leaders in Indonesia to take immediate action towards reducing carbon emissions. We urge you to prioritize sustainability for the sake of our city's health and future generations.
