As you all are aware, we have been working to stop the early release of Damien Guerrero since 2018.
Since then, working in conjunction with the San Bernardino County District Attorney, members of the Redlands City Council, along with 100's of Redlands residents we were successful in getting Governor Newsom to reverse the parole boards decision back in 2018 and we were successful in getting him denied in his other hearings since then.
Today was the fourth attempt and, unfortunately, he was granted parole.
We have 120 days for the parole board to review the case and other information submitted.
They can reverse their decision independently. If they do not, we still have the Governor who can deny his release
We are already setting up a brand new change .org site that will target Newsom specifically
It will be up tonight
Our focus will be to appeal the parole grant to the governor. We are hopeful that our efforts will get him to do it again.
Anyone who has an opinion about an inmate’s current danger to the community, or concerns about his release into the community, can submit letters to the governor, asking him to reverse the parole grant.
This is not limited to immediate family but can also include friends and community members.
The information to do it is below and will be on our site.
These letters must be submitted in writing by 60 DAYS FROM THE HEARING to the following address:
Office of Governor Gavin Newsom
Attn: Parole Review Team
Re: Inmate Damien Guerrero #G32227
1021 O Street, Suite 9000
Sacramento, CA 95814
Alternatively, the letters can be emailed toparole@GOV.CA.GOV w/ the Subject Line “Parole Review – Damien Guerrero / G32227”
On the face of the letter, please include the inmate’s name and CDC# (found on the 3rd line of the mailing address above).
Also, be sure to sign the letter and print your name, as well.
Please, help us keep this murderer where he belongs.
Thank you for any help you can give us
Truly
Robb Mc Dermott
