Redirect Proposed Entry/Exit Way for Local Townhome Development

Redirect Proposed Entry/Exit Way for Local Townhome Development
The Issue
Our neighborhood, home to many elderly residents and young families, is under threat with the proposed entry/exit plan for a new townhome development across from Edward Dr./Rembert C. Dennis. Our precious neighborhood, already suffering from existing congestion and near-miss accidents, will find its chaos exacerbated if the proposed plan is implemented.
Numerous studies suggest that improving traffic flow and implementing alternative traffic plans can significantly reduce accident rates (British Journal of Anesthesia, 2017). It is clear that steering away from the currently proposed plan for the townhome development can do just that. If redirection is unattainable, an alternative option might include installing traffic lights at this junction, however I do believe that designing where that inlet/outlet of the development would be is the easiest course of action. **This petition will also serve to appeal for a traffic light if redirection is unavailable**
As a Navy veteran, I value safety above all else, and as a journalist, I fight for the right to advocate for causes that directly impact us. The current proposed entry/exit way for the townhome development stands as a clear and present danger to our community. For the safety of all residents - particularly those who are most vulnerable, such as our elderly neighbors and young families - we must pursue an alternate plan.
I ask you to join me in lending your signature to this petition in advocating for the revision of the planned entry/exit way for the new townhome development. Your support can make all the difference in preserving the safety and tranquility of our neighborhood. Please sign this petition now.
