The House Problem Solvers Caucus is made up of members in both the Republican and Democrat Caucus who want to find ways to work together and committed to finding common ground on many of the key issues facing the nation. Is redesignating Arlington House as a National Historic Site at the top of that list? That would be a hard ‘NO’. But, what IS on that list, what underpins the hard work that is necessary to undertake the difficult task of legislator, is seeking to understand facts and impacts in pressing issues to make good decisions on behalf of the constituents they each represent.

Is your House member a Problem Solver? Are they one of the 64 members of the Problem Solvers Caucus?  Find out right here. If they are not, you should ask them why not and see how they respond.  If they are members of the Problem Solvers Caucus, you should thank them for taking on the challenges of bipartisanship at this difficult time in our nation’s history.  Here are the current leaders of the Problems Solvers Caucus.

Fitzpatrick (R-PA-01) Co-Chair
Gottheimer (D-NJ-05) Co-Chair
Case (R-HI-01) Vice-Chair
Johnson (R-SD-At Large) Vice-Chair
Lee (D-NV-03) Vice-Chair
Malliotakis (D-NY-11) Vice-Chair
Bacon (R-NE-02) Whip
Golden (D-ME-02) Whip

There are 56 other members of the Caucus. If your elected House member is a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, we urge you to reach out to them to seek their leadership and bipartisan support of H.J. Res. 76. Urge them to reach across the aisle, no matter which side they’re on and seek to understand the value and the impact of this legislation for the entire country. It is a start. It is a signal that they choose to work together. Urge them to choose to be inclusive of our nation’s history, recognizing the there is both inspiring and frustrating history, and stimulating and shameful history. Most importantly, history belongs to all of us. We are part of history. Your Problem Solvers Caucus members should be part of the effort to help the National Park Service to interpret the inclusive history at Arlington House National Historic Site by supporting H.J. Res. 76.
