This petition is to show support and to prove that there is a genuine local need for a complete redesign and rebuild of Smith Park skate park in Pico Rivera.

The updated and modernized skatepark will be a free-to-use, safe, inclusive and a family orientated sports facility for users of all ages. The redesign and rebuild of the skatepark will be professionally designed and constructed by the California Skateparks or Spohn Ranch with design input from local skatepark users.

Skateparks are proven to increase health, well-being, community cohesion whilst reducing social exclusion and anti-social behavior. The current skatepark design does not allow for these benefits to be enjoyed for it is outdated, run down and does not provide lights like the rest of the park. The redesigned skatepark will not only benefit skatepark users, it will enhance our city and will be a positive asset to the whole community.
