The community of parents, children and staff at Oaks Park High School have long been concerned by the culture within the school. We are concerned the school is failing in its mission to provide an environment of learning based on respect, compassion, and collaboration.

The signatories to this petition are aware members of the National Education Union (NEU) at Oaks Park High School have been taking strike action since June 2021 over the bullying and victimization of staff. Four months on, the dispute remains unresolved, and members will be taking further strike action at least until the end of October 2021. We share their concern at the continued decline of standards.

Parents and students have joined the staff in reporting concerns about bullying and intimidation at the school. Despite this those in positions of power and influence have not responded adequately enough to reassure us that they have listened, let alone acted upon these concerns.

Schools are at the heart of any community – they should be safe places that nurture young minds. Parents, students and staff are united in wanting to re-create the happy, healthy environment that once existed at Oaks Park High School. Please sign the petition calling on Redbridge Council to end the culture of toxic bullying in our community school.
