As a once troubled youth, I found solace and guidance in the most unexpected of places - our local Flagler Beach Skatepark. It was more than just a place to skate; it was a sanctuary where I found mentors who helped me navigate life's challenges. Unfortunately, this haven is no longer available for our current generation due to it’s condition.

Flagler Beach, FL is home to over 5,000 residents (U.S. Census Bureau), many of whom are young people in need of positive recreational outlets like the skate park. The absence of such spaces can lead to increased rates of juvenile delinquency and decreased community engagement among youth (National Recreation and Park Association).

Rebuilding the Flagler Beach Skatepark would not only provide an outlet for physical activity but also foster a sense of community among our youth. It would serve as a safe space where they can find mentorship and camaraderie just as I did during my formative years.
