Reconsider relocation of Assistant Principal Ms. Weller

Reconsider relocation of Assistant Principal Ms. Weller
The Issue
For numerous years as a parent at Abess Park Elementary, I have witnessed the incredible growth and transformation of our school. This growth has been largely driven by the unwavering dedication and commitment of our Assistant Principal, Ms. Weller. Her invaluable contributions, tireless efforts, and loving leadership have cultivated a nurturing and thriving educational environment for our children. Ms. Weller has not just been an administrator; she has been the heart of our community, fostering strong relationships with parents, teachers, and students alike.
Recently, the announcement of Ms. Weller's relocation came as a shocking blow to our school community. The decision to remove her is seen as a profound mistake that ignores the immense positive impact she has made. We, the Abess Park community, believe that it is our right to have a say in who plays such a pivotal role in shaping the educational experiences of our children. Her sudden departure threatens to undo years of progress and disrupt the strong community bonds she has worked so hard to build.
We urge the Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) to reconsider this decision. Ms. Weller's exemplary service and connection to our community are irreplaceable, and her removal would be a great disservice to the students and staff she so passionately serves. Her unique ability to inspire and lead cannot be overstated, and we believe her continued presence at Abess Park is essential for our school’s future success.
We are seeking the support of our entire school community and beyond to voice our collective concerns and ensure that our desires are heard. By signing this petition, we are advocating for the well-being of our children and the preservation of the loving environment that Ms. Weller has built. Let us stand together to keep our cherished Assistant Principal, Ms. Weller, at Abess Park Elementary School. Please add your signature to show your support and help us make a compelling case to DCPS. Together, we can make a difference for our children’s education and our community's future.
It is our sincere hope that the voices of the Abess Park community are heard and thoughtfully considered. Ms. Weller has neither requested or authorized anyone to speak or act on her behalf, however we are expressing our concerns as invested stakeholders in the school community.
