Julie Cook is an institution and the reason many folks join the Woodstock Day School community in the first place. She is the gateway to education and independence for the littlest humans of Woodstock. She carefully lays the foundation for the way they navigate their education, their community, and world around them. SHE is the reason many of us come to this school, and the reason many of us stay. The administration's decision not to renew Julie Cook’s contract is a significant loss for our children and our community. To lose her is to tarnish the school’s strongest and most consistent asset, early childhood education. We urge the administration to reconsider this decision immediately. Furthermore, we call for a reevaluation of the protocols used in making such decisions to ensure they include thorough investigations, interviews with staff and families, and clear and timely communication.
