Reconsider district decision to restrict facility access in Piper School District USD 203

Reconsider district decision to restrict facility access in Piper School District USD 203
The Issue
As parents of student-athletes in our district, we have seen firsthand how school and community facilities support our children’s growth—not only as athletes, but as healthy, well-rounded individuals. These spaces allow students to train, build skills, and prepare for future opportunities.
The district’s recent decision to restrict access to these facilities threatens those opportunities and limits a resource our families already support through our tax contributions. While we understand that logistical challenges exist, decisions that impact our children and community should be made in partnership with the families who rely on these spaces.
Our school facilities are more than buildings—they are community hubs that promote health, teamwork, and engagement. Restricting access risks weakening that connection and reducing opportunities for students and families alike.
We urge the district to pause and work with parents and community members to find a balanced solution that protects these spaces while keeping them accessible. Collaboration—not restriction—will lead to the best outcome for our students and our community.
Sign this petition to encourage the district to reconsider this policy and partner with families to keep our facilities open, accessible, and supportive of student growth.
