Recognize May as BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) Awareness Month in Washington State

The Issue

While May is recognized as BPD (borderline personality disorder) Awareness Month federally, awareness and understanding of this spectral and fluctuating mental health condition at the state level, still remains insufficient. This recognition will align Washington state with the federal initiative and will promote local advocacy, peer support networks, amplify education and research, influence early diagnosis, improve access to appropriate treatments and challenge harmful stigmas. BPD affects approximately 1.6% of the United States, diagnosed.

Additionally, public acknowledgment at the state level can lead to increased funding for local community health programs and mental health services that have aided countless individuals on their journey towards recovery. This petition demonstrates compassion, support, and a positive change pathway of empowerment for those affected. It's an opportunity for Washington State to be a supporter of this mental health advocacy initiative.

Let's progress the conversation! Please sign this petition to urge Washington State officials to officially recognize May as BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) Awareness Month! Your signature can make a significant difference in the fight for mental health empathy and equity!
