We submit this petition to affirm the just historical, moral, and legal entitlement of the Kurdish people. For decades, Kurdish communities, particularly in Rojava (west Kurdistan), have faced severe policies of exclusion, erasure, forced displacement, and systematic injustice. These actions against the Kurdish population have not only stripped them of their rights but also their dignity and recognition on the global stage.

Rojava, located in the northern part of Syria, is a testament to resilience amidst adversity. This region has become a beacon of hope for many, embodying principles of democracy, inclusiveness, and coexistence. Despite its critical role in promoting peace and stability, Rojava remains unrecognized, leaving its people vulnerable to perpetual threats and marginalization.

The historical claim of the Kurdish people to Rojava is entrenched in centuries of cultural and social ties to the land. However, their existence and contributions to civilization have been systematically underrepresented in the annals of history due to geopolitical struggles. Rojava emerged not just as a geographical entity, but as a symbol of the Kurdish struggle for existence and identity.

To rectify the longstanding injustices, the international community must recognize Rojava's historical entitlement and national existence. This recognition is not only a step toward justice for the Kurdish people but plays an indispensable role in stabilizing the region, fostering democracy, and protecting minorities.

We call upon the Members of the United States Congress and the European Union to champion the cause of Rojava through diplomatic recognition and support for its autonomy. Strategies must involve advocacy for inclusive political solutions, protection of human rights, and facilitation of dialogue between Rojava and neighboring entities. These measures would ensure that the aspirations of the Kurdish people for self-determination and peace are realized.
