Petition updateRecognize Enclosed Mobility Scooters Federally‼️FACT CHECKING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MOBILITY SCOOTER AND MOTOR VEHICLE‼️

Mobility scooters come in small, medium, and large sizes, but even the largest or enclosed models lack the creature comforts and protections of a motor vehicle. Mobility scooters, even when encapsulated, do not have PROPER air conditioning, heating, insulation, or soundproofing. They are not fully waterproof or weatherproof, and are designed mainly for short trips at low speeds, using small rechargeable electric motors that are brushless. (Even though our Enclosed Mobility Scooters are commonly advertised with features like these, any one that owns these can tell you with pure frustration that they are falsely advertised in those departments. Proof can easily be provided as well.)

In contrast, motor vehicles like cars and trucks are built for all-weather, long-distance travel, have combustion motors, and take fuel of some sort. They come with climate control (air conditioning and heat), full insulation, soundproofing, and are completely weatherproof and waterproof. Motor vehicles also use either combustion engines or large electric motors, are much faster, and require a driver’s license, registration, and insurance.

Again, my Enclosed Mobility Scooter was manufacturer to operate as a Mobility Scooter, not a vehicle. No matter how it aestheticly looks, it does not take away from its specs nor what it truly is.

More posts will come later after my phone call with the ADA which opens at 1pm MT.
