Recognise NEPT workers: COVID disaster payments for non-emergency healthcare staff

I have spent the last 20 years serving the community as a non-emergency patient transport (NEPT) officer in different capacities. Since the pandemic hit, our workload has increased dramatically in a short period of time. We are calling on the Victorian government to recognise our contribution in the form of monetary rewards.
The Minister has rightly awarded COVID disaster payments to front line workers - the doctors, nurses & paramedics to recognise their contribution during the COVID-19 Pandemic. However sadly, we, the dedicated NEPT workers have been forgotten.
We have been transporting Covid 19 patients, without using air conditioning and drinking water.
Non-emergency patient transport (NEPT) is for patients who require clinical monitoring or supervision during transport, but do not require a time critical ambulance response.
The dedicated staff of NEPT are proud of the work we have done to free up doctors, nurses and paramedics so they can focus on time-urgent, emergency cases while we take care of non-emergency patient care.
We are not focussed on the monetary reward albeit helpful in these times but indeed recognition of a significant contribution to the sick and the broader community.
Please sign and share this petition to show your solidarity with NEPT workers.
