RECLAIM PEOPLE-POWERED GOVERNANCE

The Issue

We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, declare that it is time to challenge the very structure of a system that has failed the majority of its people since its inception.

📖 A HISTORY LESSON IN CONTROL, NOT LIBERATION:

  1. 1492: The so-called “discovery” of America begins an era of colonization, genocide, and exploitation—not liberty.
  2. 1492–1777: European empires impose systems of oppression over Native peoples, African slaves, and poor settlers.
  3. 1777: The Articles of Confederation—a weak response to monarchy—offers no real freedom for women, people of color, or non-landowners.
  4. 1789: The U.S. Constitution was born—but written by white, wealthy, male landowners, many of whom were enslavers. This foundation still influences a system built on exclusion and suppression.

THE HARSH REALITY

Since its founding, this government has not served the majority.

It has legalized slavery, segregated races, denied women a voice, ignored Indigenous sovereignty, over-policed Black communities, exploited immigrants, and criminalized poverty.

While our legal system preaches justice, in practice it protects power and punishes dissent.

We are taught to vote, to wait, to plead—yet the outcomes rarely shift in favor of the working poor, marginalized communities, or future generations.

WE ARE DONE ASKING. IT’S TIME TO ORGANIZE.

We’re not calling for chaos. We’re calling for creation.

🛠️ We demand a new people-powered government, rooted in:

  • Equity, not hierarchy.
  • Community needs, not corporate interests.
  • Shared leadership, not centralized patriarchy.
  • Respect for land, culture, and justice—especially for the Indigenous, the enslaved, the displaced, and the overlooked.

This is not a rebellion. This is a realignment with what democracy was supposed to be.

⚖️ LEGAL GROUNDS FOR PEOPLE-POWERED CHANGE

We affirm our rights under:

  1. The First Amendment: The right to petition, speak, and assemble against unjust government.
  2. The Declaration of Independence: When a government becomes destructive to the rights of the people, it is our duty to alter or abolish it.
  3. The U.S. Constitution itself, which is not divinely written—but a legal document that can be restructured by the people it claims to govern.

We demand the creation of a new, legally recognized, people-driven governing body that reflects modern, inclusive, and ethical standards—one that breaks from the European male-dominated framework that continues to dictate life in America.

This petition is the first step. We are many. We are ready. We are done waiting.
