Recall or Resign: Hold Marc Bennett Accountable for Police Killings!

Recall or Resign: Hold Marc Bennett Accountable for Police Killings!
The Issue
My name is Daycia Hill.
On January 20, 2026, my brother, DeAundre Daevon Hill, was shot nine times and killed by officer(s) from the Wichita Police Department after police responded to a dispatch call for a completely different resident. They were not even supposed to be at his apartment.
Yet, my brother lost his life.
Our family is still seeking truth, accountability, and justice.
Sadly, our experience is not unique.
For years, families in Sedgwick County have raised serious concerns about how the District Attorney’s Office handles cases involving police and corrections officers. Under the leadership of Marc Bennett, officers involved in deaths and serious misconduct are rarely prosecuted — even when lives are lost and communities demand answers.
One of the most well-known examples is the death of Cedric “CJ” Lofton, a 17-year-old who died while restrained in custody. His death was ruled a homicide, yet no criminal charges were filed against the officers involved.
In case after case, the same pattern appears:
• Families are left grieving
• Taxpayer money is used for settlements
• Officers keep their jobs
• No one goes to jail
• No real accountability happens
This is not justice.
This is not public safety.
This is not equal treatment under the law.
Because of this ongoing pattern of failure and lack of accountability, we are demanding that Marc Bennett either be recalled from office or resign immediately!!!!
A District Attorney’s duty is to protect the public and uphold justice — not to shield law enforcement from consequences when misconduct occurs.
Our family believes that no badge should place someone above the law.
We believe that every life matters.
We believe that justice must be fair, transparent, and applied equally — no matter who is involved.
We are calling on the voters of Sedgwick County to demand better leadership and support real change — starting with the removal of Marc Bennett from office.
We are asking for a District Attorney who will:
✔ Fully investigate police-involved deaths
✔ File charges when evidence supports them
✔ Be transparent with families and the public
✔ Respect victims and their loved ones
✔ Rebuild trust in our justice system
