The Issue

Nashville is at a crossroads, and the leadership of Mayor Freddie O’Connell has come under intense scrutiny. Our city deserves a leader who prioritizes public safety, competent crisis management, fiscal responsibility, and bold infrastructure progress. Unfortunately, Mayor O’Connell's tenure has been marked by catastrophic missteps, deliberate obstructionism, and gross negligence that have endangered lives, burdened taxpayers, and stalled Nashville's potential.

Under Mayor O’Connell’s leadership, Nashville has witnessed outrageous scandals in public safety and immigration enforcement. He amended Executive Order 30 to mandate reporting of ICE operations, publicly releasing names of federal agents in what critics universally condemned as doxxing—sparking a congressional investigation by Rep. Andy Ogles and fierce rebuke from DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, who declared his priorities "completely screwed up" and him unfit for office. This betrayal shields criminal illegals while endangering law enforcement and eroding trust in city governance.

Crisis response has proven lethally incompetent, as seen in the feckless handling of Winter Storm Fern in January 2026. O’Connell’s oversight of his DEI-appointed Nashville Electric Service CEO left tens of thousands without power for nearly a week, resulting in preventable deaths through culpable negligence. After initially defending the disaster, he flip-flopped to hollow dissatisfaction, exposing a total failure in protecting Nashville citizens during emergencies.

Homelessness policies remain a disgrace, with O’Connell himself grading his encampment clearances a mere "B-" amid endless controversy, under-resourcing, and zero coordination with housing solutions—leaving streets filthy, dangerous, and overrun with tent cities despite token openings like Strobel House.

Fiscal betrayal hits homeowners hardest: O’Connell’s reappraisal inflated median home values 45%, slamming families with massive tax hikes despite his spin about the "lowest rate since 1972," crushing working Nashvillians under progressive waste.

Infrastructure vision is absent, exemplified by his tepid sabotage of The Boring Company’s revolutionary tunnel project through secretive backroom deals, drawing fire from State House Speaker Cameron Sexton for opacity and even Democrat Rep. John Ray Clemmons for lacking public oversight—squandering a chance to transform transit.

It’s time for a change. We deserve a mayor who safeguards our safety, delivers competent services, eases taxpayer burdens, and seizes opportunities for growth. A recall is not a decision to be taken lightly, but it becomes necessary when leadership proves destructive and unresponsive to the needs of the people.
