If you haven’t heard, Coroner Tape of St Tammany Parish ran unopposed. Now that he is “elected,” we learned he has a history of charges for sexually abusing a 7-year-old.

His first move as coroner was to arbitrarily end the SANE program, firing the nurses of his office that are trained to collect rape kits. Rape kits collect evidence to convict rapists. Overnight, local hospitals became responsible for this task without warning. This program was GRANT FUNDED, meaning it was free to his office, and cancelling the program saves no money. He will not respond for comments.

Think… WHY would a person with a history of child sex abuse charges want to cancel a program designed to catch rapists… and then refuse to discuss it?

In order to recall, about 40,000 physical signatures will need to be collected within 6 months. I bet we can find 40,000 people in St. Tammany Parish that don’t like where this is headed.
