This petition is to show support and to prove that there is a genuine local need to rebuild the Ravenshead Skatepark. The existing park was demolished 2 years ago. We want there to be an immediate focus from the Parish Council, with the support of parents and the community, on working towards securing funds for its replacement. It can take years to obtain funding and go through a skatepark design/tender process so it is essential that we start ASAP. 

The new Skatepark will be a free-to-use, safe, inclusive and family orientated sports facility for bike, scooter and skateboard riders of all ages. However, in particular, it will provide a much needed facility for children aged 11-17 years old as currently there is nothing in the village for this age group. 

Skateparks are proven to increase health, well-being and community cohesion by encouraging different ages to participate together. The skatepark will not only benefit skatepark users, it will enhance the growing village and will be an asset to the whole community.
