Rebuild and Protect Lincoln Park Playground

The Issue

We, the undersigned residents and community members, are urgently calling for the City of San Francisco to take immediate action to secure and protect Lincoln Park Playground, located at Clement Street and 33rd Avenue.

This cherished neighborhood playground has been repeatedly subjected to vandalism, trash dumping, and--most disturbingly--two recent acts of arson. It is no longer a safe space for our children. Families in Seacliff, Outer Richmond, and surrounding areas rely on this playground, and we are devastated by its current condition.

We request the following immediate and long-term measures:

1) Repair the damaged playground structures due to fire and upgrade the deteriorating turf deck surrounding the playground for younger children

2) Installation of a secure gate and lock system to prevent after-hours access and reduce the risk of future arson.

3) Enhanced lighting and surveillance to deter illegal activity and support community safety.

4) Regular maintenance and cleanup to ensure the park remains clean, safe, and welcoming.

5) Increased SFPD and Rec & Park patrol presence in the evenings and overnight hours.

6) A community plan for future improvements to make the playground more resilient and family-friendly.

Our children deserve a safe, clean, and joyful place to play. We urge the City to treat this issue with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.

Sincerely,

Concerned Residents of the Outer Richmond and Sea Cliff
