I've already made 4 sonic related petitions in the last 2 months and i figured that id be making one involving this show as well. Many of you sonic fans are aware that Sonic SATAM is the second official sonic tv show, and one of the most beloved and memorable in the DIC era and onwards. Not to mention the fact that this is the only Sonic show in which the freedom fighters appear, the show used to air on ABC Saturday morning cartoons, while the show received positive reviews from fans, the show ended up being cancelled after Disney bought ABC, which ultimately forced the directors to shelve their plans for a third season, which resulted in the show ending on a cliffhanger, much to the disappointment of thousands of fans worldwide. The late Ben Hurst tried numerous times to revive the series but failed each time, former writer Ken Penders was willing to help Hurst in attempting to revive the third season in the form of a movie, at first it seemed to be going well, but alas, Sega refused to fund the movie, they also refused to have it adapted in the Archie comics too, but despite the lack of success in these attempts, Hurst never gave up, he spent the rest of his life trying to revive the series, he sadly passed away in August of 2011. To make matters worse, Former lead writer Ian Flynn, who fans all despise, criticized the show for having too much attention focused towards sally acorn, who fans up to this day have adored, this gives fans an even greater reason to call out Ian Flynn, for his supposed dislike to the freedom fighters, and lack of effort to bring them back. However Alison Scharlemann, a good friend of Hurst, had all of his documents and notes of the story plot of the planned season/film in her possession, Hurst gave to her in his will shortly before his passing, to which she released to the public. In 2019, Fans who were great supporters to Ben hurst work, formed their team called Team Sea3on, who were part of a community called (Fans United for SATAM) set out to put a third season in motion, they were determined to finish what Ben Hurst had started. With using Hurst's notes, in 2022 they made their own official video of what would've been the third season/movie, they uploaded it on their youtube. once the video was posted, the news absolutely exploded, fans took a great like to their efforts, this fan video also gained the attention from IGM, but its unknown if it caught the attention of Sega, but we can most likely assume it did. While the video isn't exactly official to the show, it gave fans a great idea of what the season would've been, and to this day, both fans and the team are fighting hard to convince Sega to officially reboot the series and give it the proper intended ending that it truly deserves. Other sonic shows like Sonic Underground, and sonic prime, have left fans disappointed, while sonic prime may be a bit far fetched, its cliffhanger wasn't as inconclusive as SATAM and Underground, in fact i do have a petition to revive Sonic Underground as well, link will be right here, https://www.change.org/p/revive-reboot-sonic-underground-and-give-it-the-full-potential-it-deserves , I am aware of the fact that Underground was cancelled due to the lack of interest, it has gained more interest over the years, so for you fans who want this rebooted as well, I would highly recommend you signing, and don't hesitate on doing so as well. With your help and support, I believe we can convince Sega to make this happen, show the how much we want this show to be concluded in the way it deserves, we must finish what Ben Hurst started, and i will not close this petition under any circumstance, its time to show Sega how much this show means to us and how much it deserves to have its true potential, and the time to act is now, so sign this petition, chip it, share it and give it your full support, I am counting on all of you, and routing for the freedom fighters.
