Reassign Long County's Legal Organ to the Coastal Courier

Reassign Long County's Legal Organ to the Coastal Courier
The Issue
For years, the Coastal Courier served Long County as our Legal Organ, demonstrating a commitment by offering unbiased reporting that supported local news, sports and activities, as well as diligently posting the required legal notices.
When the Long County Press moved in, the County was required to change due to state law; however, after years of inaccuracies affecting legal notices, it was decided it had to be moved. Subsequently, the Tattnall Journal Sentinel replaced the Long County Press as the official Legal Organ, to the dissatisfaction of many Long county residents. The majority of Long County residents work, shop, eat and find entertainment in Liberty County, NOT Tattnall County.
The importance of a local Legal Organ being impartial and dedicated to the community it serves cannot be underestimated. The Tattnall Journal Sentinal has shown over and over through its biased reporting it is unable to do that; additionally, they were constantly giving the former commissioner chairman copies of their articles for approval for print, instead of printing impartial news.
The Coastal Courier has consistently shown its adherence to these principles we citizens seek, making it the preferred choice of many residents. This is not just about preference; it's a matter of public trust and the guarantee of a journalistic medium upholding the balanced representation of news and events.
By reassigning Long County's Legal Organ to the Coastal Courier, we are maintaining a relationship with a respected outlet known for objective journalism and unwavering community support. Let's safeguard the integrity of our local news by supporting this switch in designation. We are calling on the four constitutional officers of Long County, GA (the Sheriff, the Clerk of Court, the Probate Judge and the Tax Commissioner) to listen to our concerns and bring integrity back to Long County journalism.
Kindly sign this petition to reinstate the Coastal Courier as Long County's Legal Organ.
