Petitioning: Craft Recordings

For too long, Grave Disorder by The Damned has been unavailable in any accessible physical format. 

Fans old and new have been left with no affordable way to own this essential record. We are calling on Craft Recordings to give Grave Disorder the proper reissue it deserves.

Why This Matters

• Vinyl Revival : Vinyl is more popular than it has been in decades. Collectors, new listeners, and long‑time fans are actively seeking high‑quality pressings of important albums and Grave Disorder has never had the wide vinyl release it warrants.
• The Damned’s 50th Anniversary: With the band celebrating 50 years of making music, this is the perfect moment to honour their legacy by restoring a key part of their catalogue.
• Growing Popularity:  The Damned’s influence continues to expand across generations. Renewed touring, critical recognition, and a resurgence of love for punk and post‑punk music have brought thousands of new fans into the fold.
• Inflated Resale Prices:  Because the album has been out of print for years, used copies sell for prices that are inaccessible to most fans when they become available. At the time of writing this request there is only one vinyl copy listed for sale on Discogs, which is priced at US$600. A first press copy (2001) has previously sold at that price while reissues are now selling for around US$200 on the rare occasions they are listed. There are currently no copies available on eBay and Google only yields links to ‘sold out’ listings or scam pages. CD’s, while more regularly available, are also offered at highly inflated prices.

What We’re Asking For

We respectfully request that Craft Recordings:

• Reissue Grave Disorder on vinyl
• Reissue Grave Disorder on CD
• Consider a double‑LP vinyl edition to preserve audio quality given the album’s running time of approximately 58 minutes.

Why Now

Grave Disorder is a lyrically sharp, musically ambitious and fan‑beloved album that deserves to be heard, not locked behind scarcity and inflated resale prices. With the band’s 50th anniversary and a massive resurgence of interest in their work, there has never been a better time for a re‑release.
