The issue

The evidence is in.
It's time for Victoria Police to reopen the Bike Boy investigation.
It's time to lay charges against Catherine and Daniel Andrews.

On 7 January 2013, at approximately 1:02 pm, 15-year-old Ryan Meuleman was struck by an SUV while riding his bicycle in Blairgowrie, Victoria. The vehicle was driven by either then Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews or his wife, Catherine Andrews.

Ryan sustained critical injuries, including a punctured lung, ruptured spleen, internal bleeding, broken ribs and multiple fractures. He survived, but the crash permanently altered his physical health, mental wellbeing and life trajectory.

From the time of the crash through Daniel Andrews' tenure as Premier of Victoria—and continuing after his departure from office—Daniel and Catherine Andrews have denied responsibility for the collision. They have publicly maintained that Ryan collided with their vehicle, rather than that their vehicle struck him.

Former Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews publicly stated that Ryan "t-boned our car", while Catherine Andrews said, "the crash was the cyclist's fault... he hit our car."

However, in the 000 recording obtained by the media, Daniel Andrews tells the operator, "...and we've hit him."

Photographs of the vehicle obtained through Freedom of Information requests show damage to the front of the SUV, including a shattered windscreen and a deflated tyre. The location and pattern of the damage are consistent with Ryan Meuleman's injuries and with his account of how the collision occurred.

Respected crash expert Dr Raymond Shuey concluded in his forensic analysis that the Andrews' SUV cut the corner at between 40 and 60 km/h before colliding head-on with Ryan. Dr Shuey also concluded that it was probable the driver was a male, rather than Catherine Andrews.

Dr Shuey further concluded that police failed to follow several required investigative procedures and stated that officers engaged in an overt cover-up to protect a political figure.

Despite Ryan's critical injuries and longstanding disputes about how the collision occurred, no criminal investigation into the crash has ever been conducted.

It's time for Victoria Police to reopen the Bike Boy investigation.

●  The evidence is there.
●  The crimes are there.
●  So where is Victoria Police?

Whoever runs this State after the November election, they must  be committed to ending the 13 year cover up of the Bike Boy crimes.

If it were anyone else, charges would follow.

The evidence must be investigated, and if criminal conduct is identified, charges should be laid and the matter put before a court, and those charged jailed, if that’s what a court decides.

Enough excuses — Act on the evidence

Victorians are sick of politicians—and former politicians—who believe the rules apply to everyone except themselves. The same goes for partners who profit from their spouse's political position. Victoria needs to be re-set.  And that can’t happen unless the Bike Boy crimes are finally prosecuted.
