The issue

15-year-old Eden Westbrook, lived in a small seaside town in Tasmania.

One night after a minor disagreement with her family she left home. The next morning, she was found dead hanging from a tree on the main road into the town.

The family don’t believe she took her own life.

Eden’s family have never had a public inquest into her death, instead the coroner conducted a 'record of investigation into death' (without inquest).

Despite compelling new evidence and new witnesses, requests to reopen the investigation have been denied.

The Coroner’s Office has refused to release the autopsy photos to an independent expert with over 50 years’ experience. Why were the photos never included on the coronial file?

There are doubts about the date and time of Eden’s death, and serial paedophile policeman, Paul Reynolds, was in charge of the case.

A woman that was last to see Eden alive and has never been questioned by police.

The missing CCTV footage has not been viewed by the family.

Why the secrecy?

We are calling for an open and transparent public enquiry into Eden’s death and the investigation that took place.

We call on the Attorney General, Guy Barnett, and the Government of Tasmania to support our petition.  We call on the Attorney General to direct the Coroner to hold an inquest into the death of Eden Westbrook, and, if necessary, apply to the Chief Magistrate to reopen the investigation into Eden’s death.
