Regina Catholic High Schools 2021 cap and gown to be held at Mosaic
The Issue
As a member of the 2021 graduating class of Miller Comprehensive Catholic High school we know covid has turned lives upside down. We may not seem to have been affected by this pandemic as much as some others have but, as young people, we are creating memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. This year we have missed out on that. For us to have our whole class at graduation would mean one last memory of us all together before parting ways. This would be the first time since November 2020, not only in our school but also the other three catholic high schools in the city.
Our graduating class has been split into two groups that go on separate days for the majority of the year, we also did not have the chance to engage in extra ciriculars or dances. We are hoping for one last day where we can all be together as a group and a class. We have been building connections and bonds with these people for the past three years and are about to embark on different life paths. To not be able to graduate with our fellow classmates and friends would be devastating.
Mosaic is a reasonable place for graduation, graduates can be spread out as well as family and friends in the stands. We are not asking that we plan our own ceremony, we would only like for the students to be a priority in this situation.
Thank you.
