Raphi Stein has been denying his wife a Gett for nearly 5 years.  For years he has had 2 Seruvs out against him, for refusing to appear before Beis Din. He has allegedly used aliases to hide his identity and dodge accountability, presenting himself as a normal "divorced man" in the community. But he is not divorced, for he has not given his wife a Gett. 

Enough is Enough.
Put the past in the past.

LIVING LCHAIM: FIX YOUR MISTAKE. HELP FREE ADEENA.

The Living Lchaim Network recently platformed Raphi Stein —a man under a Seruv from the Beis Din of America who has refused to give Adeena Kohn a Get for over four years. Their apology failed to acknowledge that Raphi is a Get refuser, and lacked a clear understanding and acknowledgment of where they erred.

This is not a nuanced discussion about perspectives on divorce or separation.

This is about a woman being held hostage in a dead marriage.

Taking the episode down is not enough.

We call on you to use your platform to help fix this:

 • Call on Raphi to give Adeena a Gett immediately and unconditionally

 • Acknowledge and share the existing Seruv

 • Mobilize your audience to support efforts to free Adeena — by sharing her fundraiser and increasing public pressure

• Stress that it is never OK to normalize, equivocate, or excuse Get refusal, that withholding a Get should never be used as a bargaining chip in divorce proceedings, and that lashon hara is not applicable when there is a Seruv from beis din - in fact it is a mitzvah to publicize this fact and pressure him to appear before beis din.
