Currently, the Ram 2500 and 3500 have 4th gen cabs and beds. Due to the Ram HD having previous gen components, Ram is falling behind in the competition and that’s no good for a popular truck brand. I know all other 3/4 ton trucks share all of their components with their 1/2 ton counterparts. When the 5th gen Ram 1500 debuted, the former CEO of FCA now called Stellantis Mike Manley said that the Ram HD will follow the 1500 in the next generation and when the next gen Ram HD debuted, it still had the 4th gen cab and bed. That is a total lie and lying is certainly bad and lots of people were angry and/or upset about the Ram HD still having previous gen components. I also saw old rumors about updating the Ram HD to the true 5th gen and the most recent articles I read about the 2022 Ram HD is that the design will remain unchanged which means that the Ram HD will still be 4th gen based and Ram will definitely fall behind the competition big time and at least 6 times more people would buy the Ram 2500/3500 if it were a complete 5th gen truck. The current Ram HD has a 4th gen interior which doesn’t look as nice as the true 5th gen. Here are the benefits of the Ram HD being a true 5th gen truck:

Roomier interior due to the enlarged cab in the Ram 1500, telescopic steering wheel, reclining rear seats in both crew and mega cab, available panoramic sunroof, advanced adaptive cruise control, available folding back middle seat, a much roomier back seat, modern body lines, enhanced comfort, much more modern look and much better interior quality.

Ram Trucks are getting more and more popular and Ram would definitely increase its stock if the Ram HD were a complete 5th gen truck. It also will have best in class rear legroom, especially the mega cab model. I know that the Ram 1500 has best in class rear legroom and I also know the true 5th gen Ram truck is very roomy and comfortable. I also know for sure that if the Ram HD were a true 5th gen truck, Ram will top the competition with having all the nice amenities and I know a lot of people would love a true 5th gen Ram HD over a half fast 4.5 gen Ram HD which doesn’t look good to a lot of people. I personally think a true 5th gen Ram HD truck with components of the 5th gen Ram 1500 would be great and sell very well and be ahead of the competition.

Another big reason the Ram HD lineup should move to a new chassis is the 4th generation Ram 1500 Classic has been discontinued so it makes sense for Ram’s heavy duty truck lineup to move to a new STLA Frame platform in order to properly compete with Ford and GM.
