We are petitioning the board to increase base pay for all usd 465 paras from $10.00 per hour to $15.76 per hour which is the equivalent to a “living wage” as defined by https://livingwage.mit.edu/counties/20035  Additionally we want proportional raises for the existing paras. This would allow paras to make a livable wage without relying on multiple jobs at once, and allow employees to give their full attention and passions to assist the students in their education. We intend to present at the next board meeting in November.
