Raise BC's PWD rates to $3,500 a month

The Issue

The cost of living in British Columbia continues to rise, with the annual inflation rate exceeding 4%. However, the assistance provided to individuals on disability income has remained stagnant. Currently, those on disability income are expected to survive on a mere $642.37 per month if you in community living bc and for people who is not living in community living bc the amount is $1,483.50. This amount is supposed to cover rent, utilities, food and other essential needs - an impossible task for many.

The government's failure to adjust these rates according to inflation effectively suggests that disabled individuals do not require basic necessities such as food or shelter. This is not only unfair but also unacceptable.

It's time for the British Columbia government to recognize this issue and take immediate action. We urge them to increase disability income assistance rates in line with current inflation trends so that disabled individuals can afford a decent standard of living.

We call upon every citizen who believes in fairness and equality for all members of society regardless of their physical abilities or circumstances, please sign this petition and demand justice for those on disability income assistance.

Please share this petition to your friends and family members so they can support this petition so the current government of can take the necessary action
