The Issue

Being a Nigerian Christian, the ongoing persecution of my fellow believers deeply concerns me, especially when my own family members live in the region affected by this violence. The situation in Nigeria is dire, and the world remains largely unaware. I feel compelled to speak out, since these atrocities are seldom highlighted in the media.

The persecution of Christians in Nigeria is a growing crisis, with reports of attacks, killings, and displacement by extremist groups like Boko Haram. According to the Global Terrorism Index, Nigeria is ranked as the third most terrorized country in the world, and countless Christian communities have been targets of these violent acts.

Despite this, the Nigerian government has shown little urgency in addressing the crisis. There seems to be a lack of government action to protect its citizens from the barbaric behaviour and massacre of Christians. This lack of intervention has allowed extremist groups to act with impunity, leaving victims without justice and protection.

The international community must not remain silent. The voices of those who have suffered must be heard. We need global awareness to pressure the Nigerian government to take concrete steps to protect Christians and ensure their safety.

Please join me in calling for international human rights organizations, the United Nations, and global leaders to put pressure on the Nigerian government to intervene and prevent further violence. By doing so, we can ensure a safer, more peaceful Nigeria where all citizens, regardless of their faith, can live without fear.
