I am writing this petition with a heavy heart, as an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian, deeply anguished by the atrocities committed against my fellow believers. We are living in fear, seeing our community torn apart by the very hands that should protect us. We face persecution not because of actions or decisions but simply because of our faith. This is not a radical experience for us; for years, Orthodox Christians like myself have faced systematic oppression. But the intensity of this persecution has reached heartbreaking levels, seeing our churches burn, our innocence shattered, and our homes reduced to cinders.

Terrorists target us with hatred, and we wake each day with the fear of being the next victim. Can you imagine living in a world where your very existence is tested by the religion you follow? I've watched beloved deacons and priests murdered with no hope for justice. Our youngest are forced to change their religion at gunpoint, and families are being uprooted from their ancestral homes, only to face threats if they refuse to return.

It's devastating to witness the destruction of churches that have stood for centuries — pillars of our culture and history — burning like mere scraps of paper. Fragile memories of loved ones turned to ash in an instant. As someone who deeply values the sanctity of our heritage, my heart aches every time I hear of another sacred place reduced to ruins.

This is a call to the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate action. We need your help to stop the cycle of violence and protect the vulnerable. Ethiopia must not be allowed to continue standing as a silent witness to these cruelties. By amplifying our voices and demanding justice, we can bring about change.
