Ocean acidification gradually changes our ocean and has become a considerable threat to our world today. It occurs because our ocean is absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, leading to lowered pH and greater acidity. The consequences of this threat affect not only the marine life but also the lives of those who are dependent on them. Taking some organisms as an example, the shellfish and coral struggle to form their shells and skeletons, fish lose their ability to smell their predators, and crustaceans die before they can reproduce. The devastating truth below the ocean can extend and make the jobs of numerous people a collateral damage thus crippling the economy. To consider the ocean acidification as a change in the ocean’s chemistry that affects the marine wildlife is an oversimplification on how this emerging threat can affect the world.

We believe that by working together with people in coastal communities, scientists and advocates like you, we can make a difference in the fight against ocean acidification. Be a part of our movement and start raising awareness about ocean acidification. Indeed, our ocean is changing and it is the time that we change its betterment.
