RAIL PLUS TRAIL OPTION, OUR ONLY SOLUTION TO THE LACK OF TRANSPORT JUSTICE IN NEW ENGLAND.
Glen Innes Councillors are urged to support Cr David Scott's motion this week in GISC monthly meeting seeking Rail plus Trail option to be investigated thoroughly. Council needs to develop a better future vision that allows people,business,visitors and industry to move forward with confidence, not cater to particular lobby group like NERT that wants to build a bike trail at the expense of future rail connectivity. Council needs a plan for long term internal and @ cross border connectivity. Our region cannot be the hostage to a rail trail(bike trail in rail corridor). Region's future is at stake. Council needs to represent majority view of rate payers and residents without being silent on transport issue. We can have both - RAIL PLUS TRAIL. WHAT IS LACKING IS THE WILL BY COUNCILS TO INVESTIGATE ALL OPTIONS VIA A FEASIBILITY STUDY BEFORE PLANNING TO REMOVE THE RAIL LINE,OUR ONLY LINK TO QUEENSLAND.
